RIM has announced the launch of the first application with populist vocation of his Playbook Blackberry Tablet, the Facebook clientin the Blackberry World. The news is good, but is probably not what we expected for both trumpeted.
While the announcement was made the first day of the event, we have decided to wait for RIM to release the application in order to test it in situ on the Playbook. The result is not bad, but it has yet to refine many details and has a serious competitor: the web version of Facebook...
Facebook for Playbook amounts to a kind of mixture between the Front End or front page of the web version and the horrific mobile application developed by the social network and that, for my taste, is only capable of working with dignity (and not much) under IOS.

Criticism of the developers of separate Zuckerberg, the implementation of Facebook made by RIM says take advantage of the size of the screen to improve the interaction of the mobile version of the application. The truth is that it complies with that Word, but it still shows too green.

The first fortuitous detail is that the application is not able to run screen rotation. It works only in horizontal format. Continuing, it is possible to attach images, but not videos, a detail very absurd if we consider that the Playbook is especially elite in video.

The configurationmenu, for example, does not form part of the application, but that us refers directly to the web version. This is precisely the greatest problem of the Playbook for Facebookapplication. The browser of the new Tablet from RIM is very solid and its performance is much better than many of those we have seen to date. So much so that the end is much more pleasant to use the web version of Facebook that would appeal to your application.

The distribution of menus, the use of chat and, in general, the composition of the elements of the application is promising, but it shows that they have taken out with a certain haste and still needs to be improved enough so that it can compete against itself. We will keep you informed of future changes.
